About Ping Design
Learn about the origins of Ping Design.
Ping Design was founded by Kirk Dyer a multi-disciplinary designer with a background in industrial design, automotive design, photography and graphic design. I grew up around all things design working in my father’s sign writing business and later on moving into industrial design.
The goal of Ping Design is to bring a multi-disciplinary approach to your companies branding, identity and products.
Why the name Ping Design?
As I am based in China I wanted to create a name that worked well with both Western and Chinese culture. Graphic designer in Chinese is 平面设计师.
In pinyin this is Píngmiàn shèjì shī. This literally translates into “flat surface designer” so the name of the company could be thought as “Flat Designer”.
